2. In 2200-2500 words examine how each of these three paths (resistance, collaboration, independence) are illustrated in the novel. 3. Roth seems to suggest that the characters are wedded to their destiny. They are seemingly genetically determined to be fated in the manner they are. In the conclusion, you may choose to explore the question of whether the class of resistor, collaborator or independent is preordained to occur.
